The target was two people, 400 miles, 40 days! The inspirational Craig and Nina Mearns raised their glasses as they celebrate hitting the target on 4 May 2020 and raising over £1,000 to support survivors of human trafficking in the East of Scotland.

A huge thank you to Nina, who volunteers with SOHTIS and her father Craig. The funds raised will be used to support https://sohtis.org/project-light/ which is resucing victims of trafficking in Edinburgh and ensuring they have access to the immediate help that they need.
COVID-19 almost certainly will result in more people in our communities facing poverty and extreme need. We know that human trafficking and exploitation thrives in such environments and therefore we redouble our efforts and our commitment to a slavery free Scotland and to everyone deserving to live in freedom with dignity and respect.
Call to Action
There are ways that we can all be involved in being part of the solution to human trafficking in Scotland. Some as simple as raising awareness by following SOHTIS on social media and sharing our posts or volunteering skills, linking us with useful networking contacts and fundraising or donating funds.
